May Workshops and a New Electronic Health Records System

Hello everyone!

I hope this note finds you well.  I appreciate the way you all have moved through this transition with grace.  Change is always a little bumpy and I have been touched by the kindness of people as challenges arise and new system issues become apparent.  If you have any unanswered questions or concerns, you can email Matt, the membership coordinator, at membership@drgwennrosenberg.com or Dr. Gwenn at clinic@drgwennrosenberg.com

The big system change that is still underway is that we are switching to a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system called Charm.  I had negative feedback from many of you about Athena (the old system) so we are changing to a system that is highly rated and recommended by my colleagues for patient usability.  Please let us know if you have any questions about Charm or how to access your portal.  I am hopeful that this will be a significant upgrade and make it easier for you to access your records and see my notes on your results.

I have been having a great time teaching workshops.   I enjoy how it feels to be talking with a group of people and how I see people nodding when someone else asks a question or taking notes as someone shares an approach that worked for them. For people who are unable to attend the workshops live, we are building a library of on-demand videos about common health conditions and wellness topics and you will find all past sessions there.

As you will see below, we are going to have a guest speaker in May and we will have more in June.  Part of my goal in doing these workshops is to give people access to health care providers with various areas of expertise. Providers often do not get to share their knowledge on prevention and health maintenance because insurance only pays for treatment of current health conditions.  People who want more information about what they can do to prevent health conditions often end up looking things up online where they find unreliable information and advertisements for supplements that are disguised as “articles.”  Part of my goal is to give members more access to reliable information and the chance to discuss health topics with people who have medical training and experience.

May Calendar:

Prediabetes Workshop

Sessions will be 6PM- 7PM April 28, May 5 and May 12 and will include a visit from Joe Lyons, owner and trainer at Fitnostics.

This class is for anyone who has a family history of diabetes or who has high blood sugar.  Prediabetes and Type II diabetes are reversible conditions and this workshop will teach you how to improve your day to day wellbeing and heal your blood sugar regulation system.

Getting to Z; improving your sleep without medication

May 19th, 12:00PM

I ask almost everyone who comes into my office about their sleep.  This is because sleep is essential to good health and also because so many people struggle to get good quality sleep. Listen in or attend live to learn about ways to support your sleep hormones with herbs, nutrients and changes in your nighttime routine.

Understanding your postpartum body and re-connecting with your pelvic floor

May 24th at 4:00 PM

This class will be taught by Dr. Rachel Beckmann, an orthopedic and pelvic health physical therapist.  The class will go from head to toe and discuss the most common physical changes that occur during pregnancy.  Topics include: postural changes during pregnancy, diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunction (incontinence, pain with sex, pelvic organ prolapse), scar management, return to exercise and so much more.

For more information on Dr. Rachel Beckmann you can visit her website at:

Skin: care and protection of your largest organ

May 26, 12:00 PM

This is a good time of year to talk about sunscreens and skin care products.  We will go over the differences between mineral and chemical sunscreens and discuss the benefits and risks of common additives in skin care products.

Workshops are included in the monthly membership.

If you are paying for visits but see a workshop that you would like to attend, you can join as just a workshop member for $62 per month

Wishing you all a happy spring,

Dr. Gwenn
